I mean, how could you not be inspired by these cute little houses? I want to live in one and I’m a grown woman. I realize that’s impractical, so the next best thing is imagining the perfect child’s play house, and creating a mood board for how I’d deck it out!
Sources for this moodboard:
Chairs
Doormat
House Numbers
Picnic Table
Banner
Window Box
Potted Boxwood
Chalkboard
Here are some essentials for the best playhouse ever:
• Bright Colors: I think this is pretty obvious, but kids love color. I’m not saying to paint your playhouse neon green, but adding pops of color in decor or landscaping can make a boring playhouse instantly seem more fun!
• Kid-sized Furniture: There is nothing as awesome child sized items that are made to look like adult sized items. Not only is is super adorable (no plastic junk cluttering the yard!), but kids love pretending to be grownups. I don’t know why… but regardless, having ‘grown up’ furniture and accessories that fit them just right is a dream come true.
• Realistic Accessories: This goes along with the idea that the more realistic the playhouse seams, the more fun it is! Adding little touches like a doormat, house numbers, and flower boxes just take any playhouse up a notch or five on the coolness scale. Trust me!
So those are my thoughts on the perfect playhouse. Do you have anything to add to my list of must-haves? Did you have an awesome playhouse as a kid, or wish you did? Do you have one now that I can move into?
As always, thank you to Cassity and the Remodelaholic team for having me back each month. I’d love for you to visit me over on my site, ADaesthetic.com, or follow me on Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram for more updates and inspiration. Have a great day, friends!
